STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1901, page 8, column 2 SARAH J. (HAMMOND) WOOSTER, 01 May 1828 - 18 Oct 1901 Sarah J. Hammond was born in England, May 1, 1828, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. E. Hilton, at Fremont, aged 73 years, 5 months and 17 days. Deceased came with her parents to the United States in 1831. In 1847, she was united in marriage to D. K. Wooster, and their home was in Onondaga county, New York, until 1869, when they came to Steuben county, Indiana, where they settled on a farm south of Orland, where they resided until her death. A husband and seven children, four sons and three daughters, with two sisters and one brother are left to mourn the loss of a kind wife, mother and friend. The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Fremont last Sunday, Rev. Sprague officiating. She was laid to rest in the Jamestown cemetery. Mrs. Stillman Collins, of this village, was a daughter of Mrs. Wooster and helped to car‚ for her in her last sickness. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Sarah J. Children: Frances J. (Wooster) Collins, 27 Dec 1854 - 09 Apr 1926, on 15 Sep 1880 (1881 in The Collins History), married Stillman L. Collins, 18 Oct 1856 - 1941. They are buried at Jamestown Cemetery. Helen (Wooster) Hilton, (twin), 1859 - 1943, on 09 Feb 1891, married Albert E. Hilton, 1858 - 1950. They are buried at Jamestown Cemetery. Other children named in the 1920 History are: John, Lyman H. (died in childhood), Rupert L., Herbert (twin), Jennie and Dennis.
