In the photos are George McCain and Caroline Schmeiser.
George McCain was born, 4 Feb 1842 in West Cairo, Allen County, Ohio
and died, 21 Jan 1922 in Steuben County, Indiana. Caroline Schmeiser
was born, 13 May 1851 in Columbania County, Ohio and died, 13 Nov 1924
in Steuben County, Indiana. Caroline Schmeiser was the second child
of Johann Georg and Elisabeth(Germann) Schmeiser. George and
Caroline(Schmeiser) McCain were married 23 Mar 1879 in Steuben County,
Indiana. George and Caroline were the parents of two sons, Logan
McCain and Arthur James McCain.
George McCain served three years in the Union Army during the Civil War,
including service with Company E of the 81st Ohio Infantry and Company F
of the 20th Ohio Infantry.
