My great grandfather Cornelius McHENRY along with his wife Rebecca and son Harry are buried in the Hamilton Cemetery. I am sure we have relatives in Steuben County because my nephew visited the cemetery lately and found a very new beautiful pink marble monument on the family plot although the deaths occured in the 1800's. I have not been able to connect with anyMcHENRYs in Steuben County. Two are listed in Angola but one states heis not related and the other (Wilma) does not have phone service at thistime. It may be that my relatives are by other names on the female side, possibly from a daughter of Cornelius and Rebecca. Any information wouldbe greatly appreciated.

John NORTON HAND  Born 1859  in Stueban County ? Died in 1916 or 1917 in El Paso Texas, married Catalina CORTEZ in Moctezuma Sonora Mexico 1894.  We have his marriage certificate.  He signed his nameJohn NORTON HAND.   In the marriage certificate he has his parentslisted as :
           Father: George NORTON
            Mother: Elizabeth HAND
His brother's name was Robert.  He was a miner.  He wentto school in Indiana for mining.  Thank you, we would love to learnmore about this side of our family......7-2-99
He had mines in Mexico. He kept his money in a bank in El Paso, Texas.  He had a lot of money and owned a lot of land.  To make a long story short, when he died my great-grandmother and grandmother, who lived andstayed in Mexico, went to El Paso to bury him.  When they were atthe train station someone stole their luggage and all their documents thatproved who they were.  The bank gave them  $100.00.  Theysigned a document because they thought they were getting some spendingmoney but never received any money.  At the time the two women fromMexico did not know a lot about American law.  They ended up withnothing.  Years later my grandmother hired an investigator to findout what had happened, and found out that two men from the Bank of Americahad forged his name and had stolen everything.  The investigator saidthat the men from the Bank of America hired someone to go back to Indianato erase any documents of him and his family.
