Looking for information on Wilma Courtney b. ca1907 in Angola. She married in the 1920's to Willard N. Ryan. Her first child being born in 1927 Mervil Ryan, 2nd child still living, both born in Angola. She left her husbandand two small boys in the early 1930's and was never heard from again.I would like to know what happened to her, parents, siblings and whereshe is now. I am researching the Peder CHRISTENSEN family from Denmark. One of Peder Christensen's granddaughters was Karen Marie ("Marie") CHRISTENSEN. Marie was married to Jens Carl HANSEN. Marie and Jens had two children: PeterWilliam Marius ("Morris HANSON") and Dora Jensine Margrethe. Jens and Morrisimmigrated to Steuben County, Indiana.  Morris married Anna LauraGOODRICH in 1903.  Morris and Anna's daughters were Ava Margaret andHelen. Ava was married to Kenneth George SELLERS. Ken's parents were GeorgeW. SELLERS and Lydia SHOWALTER.  I am a great granddaughter of FrederickFerdinand CHRISTENSEN who was a brother to Marie.  I have some informationregarding Peder's descendants andwould like to share it with other familymembers along with hopefully obtaininginformation I do not have.

1902 Feb 2    Dunfee, Elijah - and his wife
1902 Sep 14  Dunfee, Frances"Fanny" Ann (Bishop/Bishoff?)
They are both buried at West (County Line) Cemetery.

Although I have their death certificates, parts are illegible.
I note that the undertaker for both was J. S. Shaw of Ashley.  Doesanybody

I am seeking info about Sylvanus Clark born abt 1847 in  DeKalb Co.and his wife Elizabeth.
The 1920 census shows his residence in Ashley and  occupation as grocery salesman. Elizabeth Zimmerman Cooper Clark may have been a teacher  in Steuben Co., and one of his step daus Mary or Elinor Cooper was a grocery  manager.
The first wife of Sylvanus was Elizabeth  Penick. Any information would be appreciated.

John MERRILL, (b 1797, d 1886), m Sarah CADY (b 1817d 1897) served as postmaster at the Crooked Lake, Steuben County post office in 1839, a fact verified at the United States Postal Service Museum in Washington D.C. The post office was closed on September 19, 1843. The Merrills and their family then migrated through the new territory, with children born in Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio before settling in the Geneva Nebraska. Despite resolute
effort, I have not been able to establish parentage for John Merrill or Sarah Cady and need to do so to verify their presence prior to the Revolutionary War.

I am a direct descendant of John Merrill, and am interested in speaking with
anyone who might also be trying to work this line.

Names in the line include CADY, MERCER, HART.

I have been trying to trace my great-great grandmother Lillie Dotts Bates.  She is supposed to have been born in Steuben Co.IN .  Her Father is Philip Dotts and no mother is listedon her death record. She was born 10Oct1873 and I have only 1836 as Philip'sbirth and 8July1859 as his marriage date. I have no proof, but thename Susannah Flora also  of IN, as his possible wife.  They wereto have hadat least two  children:  Lillie, my ggm and Jesse whonever married and died  28Sept1917.  Philip may have been forabrief time in Company K; 152 Indiana  Infintry @1865.  My ggm is buried here in  MI. Searching for grandfather listed on the 1900  Steuben County, Pleasant Township Census.  Name Melza Clinton Brown b. in  Indiana to H.G. Brown and Carrie M. TAYLOR in Fremont,  Steuben Co, Indiana, on October 7 1866.  Orren J. TAYLOR who is  buried in Dygert Cemetery, Scott Twnshp. Steuben Co Indiana, died December 16 1871 at the age of 24 years, s/o William T. & Mary C. TAYLOR. Orren & Amanda had a daughter, Ellen M. TAYLOR, born September of 1867 or 1869 in Steuben Co. After Orren's death, Amanda then married an Edward OLMSTEAD in Branch Co. Michigan in 1872.. Sometime after this, the family ended up in Nebraska before heading to Grand Traverse Co. Michigan in 1900.  Also looking for info in the TAYLOR family.  Believe they came form Portage Co Ohio.  Also inof on GARY family listed in the 1860 Cencus of Steuben Co. J.W. Gary family with a son James M. Gary age 1.

Trying to connect Adam Menges [1809 York Co., PA-1891 Steuben Co., IN] m. Catharine Huffvines/Hoffheins [1807 Dover, PA-1863 Steuben Co., IN] children: Israel, Lucy Ann, Samuel C*., Peter*, and Malinda (birth years span 1835-1844); with Peter Menges [1819 PA-1882 Steuben Co., IN] m. 1841 Wayne Co., OH Sarah "Salome" Wicks Menges [1817 PA-1884 Steuben Co., IN] children: Elizabeth J.*, Jonathan, Mary Ann, Lovina, Sarah Jane, William Frank, Peter, and Sidena (birth years span 1842-1862). I have more information on the Adam Menges ancestry than I do on Peter. Since Adam and Peter Menges traveled much the same pathway from PA to IN I have a feeling that they were related and am looking at a brother relationship, but I have not found any proof of this connection. I have found out that Peter had a sister, Elizabeth Menges, who married Samuel Seifert in PA, this Elizabeth is in the same age range of Elizabeth sister to Adam above. * these individuals married into the William and Catherine Fetterhoff Wolf family in Steuben Co., IN. They had children born in OH and IN.  : George married Catharine Sidel, Margaret married John Hanes, Adam married Mary  Shade, John married Dora Wright, William married Sarah Mertz/Martz, and Fred  married Anna M. Baechler.
Fred and Anna were my g-grandparents; they moved to Lafe, Ar. in 1886. They were married on 14 Oct 1886 at Zion Lutheran Church in Dekalb co. Fred was a resident of Steuben county on the marriage records, filed in Noble co. I am especially interested in finding the names of George and Catharine's children, as well as Margaret and John Hanes. Any info from anyone would be appreciated.

Looking for info on George and Catharine Tritch  family, who lived in Steuben co. around Helmer. He owned a grocery around 1910.  He had a daughter, Rilly Hosford, and a son, Perl. My G-grandfather was his  brother and moved to Lafe, Ar. in 1886.

  I'm looking for info on the Nichols family of  Steuben Co., IN. Arthur  & Belle Canse Nichols had at least 8 children.   One son, Ray, b.  Oct. 12, 1895 in Orland, IN, d. Feb. 1983 last res. Orland,  Steuben,  IN.  Did he have a spouse & family?  Are any Nichols  still living in Steuben Co.?

Searching for any data, especially obituary, on John McLain. He died in Steuben County on Sept 2 1855. Buried in Wright Cemetary. Father--Uriah McLain, from New York. Spouse, Eunice Nelson. Can  anyone help? Thanks so much.
