From the "History of Steuben County, Indiana, 1885", page 416 Frank M. Powers, attorney at law, Angola, Ind., was born in York Township, Steuben Co., Ind., April 2, 1860, a son of Calvin and Lucy A. (Gilbert) Powers, his father a native of Allegany County, N. Y., and his mother of Ohio, and early settlers of Steuben County, locating in York Township in 1836. Frank M. Powers received a good education, attending the district schools of York Township, and the grade school of Angola. In 1878 he came to Angola, and while attending school began the study of law, and subsequently entered the office of Woodhull & Croxton. He was admitted to the bar in 1881, and has since practiced in Angola. Mr. Powers is a young man of good address and fine ability, and is building up a good practice. His courteous manners and affability make him a general favorite in society, and his close attention to business and strict integrity have won him the esteem of business circles.
