The Martin / Marcin & Helen (Stasiak / Sakicka) Piasecki  

Marcin / Martin was born November 7, 1861 in Szubin, Poland the son of Mateusz & Weronika (Kasynski) Piasecki. He will come to this country about 1876 and will begin to work at the Oliver Chilled Plow Factory at the age of 16 in December of that year. He will fill many positions around the factory and in 1918 will be published in the Oliver Plow Bulletin as one of its oldest employee's. He was working in the Forge Department No. 1 Department in 1918 and his son was serving with the US army in France.   In November of 1891 he will marry the former Helen Sawicka the daughter of Jacobi Sawicki in St. Hedwig Church, South Bend. Thirteen children will be born to this union four of which will survive to adulthood; Veronica Irene, Katherine, Peter Paul, Maria, Joseph, Francis Zavier, Josephine, Anna, Stanley, Ladislava, John A, John,Theodore.   Martin will pass of pneumonia in 1928 and Helen will follow in 1930. They rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Joseph J. Piasecki and Constantia Janowiak Piechorowska Family

Joseph John Piasecki was born in 1893 in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Joseph Piasecki and Salomea Niezgodski of Szubin, Poland. In 1924 Joseph will marry Constantia Janowiak the widow of Leon Piechorowski in St Adalberts Church. She will bring 6 stepchildren to the marriage and they will bear four daughters in their union; Virginia, Josephine, Esther and Betty Lou. Joseph will work at Studebaker all his life and will pass of a heart attack in 1965. Constantia will precede her second husband, passing in 1936 of complications of appendicitis (the same malady that took her first husband).

The Marcel Coryn and Josephine Constance Piasecki Family

Marcel Coryn was born in 1925 in Mishawaka, Indiana the son of Maurice Josef Coryn and Bertha Marie Schiettecatte of St. Martens, Laethem, Belgium. On May 25, 1946 he marries Josephine Constance Piasecki in St Stanislaus Church. Two children will be born to the marriage Kathleen in 1954 and Timothy in 1956. They are both retired in South Bend. Indiana


The Virgina Piasecki Family UPDATED 10/05/2005

Virginia Piasecki was born in 1924 to Joseph and Constance Piasecki in South Bend, Indiana. She will marry three times

1944 - Irvin Kasprzak, no children will be born to this union

1947 - George F Kalebic, four children will be born to this union; Georgette (1948), Vicki (1949), Roberta (1951) and Mark Allen (1952)

1962 - Orvan Floor, one step child was brought to this union ; Jerome (1963) Orvan passed in 2004 and Virginia is living in retirement in South Bend.


The Ben Prentkowski and Esther Piasecki Family

 

Ben Prentkowski was born in 1922 to John and Blanche Gonchowski Prentkowski in South Bend, Indiana. He marries Esther Piasecki in 1947 at St. Stanislaus Church. There are three children born to this union Karen, Judy, Connie. Esther will pass in 2004.

The Sam Harman and Betty Lou Piasecki Family  

Sam Harman was born March 13, 1928 in South bend Indiana to Ira  and Ledema (Harman) Spurlock, who preceded him in death. On April 30, 1949, in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church, he married Betty Lou Piasecki.   Sam was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Samuel and Ellen Harman, who are deceased.   He will pass Feburary 1, 2004, survived by his wife and a son Dan . A son, Jeffrey Harman, passed away on March 13, 2003   Sam retired in 1982 from Bendix where he worked in fuel controls. He graduated from Riley High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Sam loved hunting, fishing and collecting model trains, as well as spending time at Crooked Lake in Delton, Mich., with his family each summer.
