Rosalie Accoe

MISHAWAKA – Services for Rosalie Accoe, 92, formerly of West 12th Street, who died at 7:30pm Friday in Miller’s Merry Manor, LaGrange, will be at 10am Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend.  Services are being held in the South Bend church because St Bavo’s Catholic Church is undergoing renovation.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8pm today in Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth St., where a parish rosary will be recited at 6pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to St Bavo’s Church renovation fund.

 

Mrs. Accoe was born November 27, 1896, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.  On June 20, 1916, in South Bend, as Rosalie Lootens, she married Achiel E. Accoe.  He died January 31, 1979.  She is survived by two daughters, Marie Bokon of Wolcottville and Evelyn Van Puyvelde of Moline IL; two sons, George of Wakarusa and Richard of Dowagiac; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.  Mrs. Accoe was a member of St Bavo’s Church, the Altar Society of the church, past president of Nigella Home Economics Club, and a member of Mothers of WW II.
