SOUTH BEND - Patricia Ann Jennings Adams,
61, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 18,
2008, in her home after an extended illness. Patricia was born on
February 24, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late James
Martin Jennings Sr. and Peggy Lorraine (Vance) Jennings.
Surviving are Patricia's mother, Peggy; four children, Dellondo
(Glenda) Fox of San Diego, CA, and Nadia Burks,
Tina Logan and Gloria Jennings, all of Atlanta, GA; nine
brothers, Rev. Joseph (Lindsey) Jennings of Atlanta, GA, James
(Barbara) L. Jennings of South Bend, Michael (Pam) Jennings of
South Bend, Johnny Jennings of South Bend, Tony Jennings of San
Diego, CA, Kevin (Ella) Jennings of South Bend, Leon Jennings of
South Bend, James (Anita) Martin Jennings Jr. of South Bend and
Demetrius (Carolyn) Jennings of Menominee, MI; three sisters,
Janice West of Atlanta, GA, and Theresa Avance and
Carol Jennings, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Dellvona
and Dellshana Fox, Marquis Lewis, Pariss Mitchell,
and Shaniqua Smith, Ashley Smith, Tranell Smith and
Treceyona Smith; two great-grandchildren, Marquis Lewis Jr. and
Za'Maira Mitchell; special aunt, Lorraine Harper; special
cousin, Lenny Connors; and special friends, Gaython
Garrett-Murray, Mary Russell and Dorothy Cutler.
Patricia also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding Patricia in death were
her husband, Charles N. Adams; her father, James Martin Jennings
Sr.; her grandmothers, Katherine Coleman Jennings and Mama
Loretta Payne-Vance; her uncle, Byron Payne; and
her granddaughters, Patricia and Porsha Logan.
Visitation will be at noon, one hour prior
to the 1 p.m. service, Monday, Nov. 24, in New Wings of Faith
Church, 52565 U.S. 31, South Bend, Indiana. Burial is to follow
at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been
entrusted with funeral arrangements.
