Mrs. Joanne A. Aftowski

May 1, 1895 – October 7, 1983

Mrs. Joanne A. Aftowski, 88, of 1217 N. Brookfield, died at 8:55am Friday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on May 1, 1895, in South Bend.  On October 28, 1919, as Joanne Klimek, she married Frank C. Aftowski, who died April 15, 1954.  She is survived by two sons, Frank of Walkerton and Jerry of West Kingston RI; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Buschatz of South Bend, Mrs. Eleanor Ullrich of Aurora IN and Mrs. Ann Kuchman of Medway OH.

Services will be at 10am Monday in St Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Sedlock, CSC, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. 

Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Sunday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30pm.  She was a member of Apostleship of Prayer.
