James R. Agostino, Sr.

July 17, 1939 - May 18, 1998

OSCEOLA - James R. Agostino, Sr., 58, residing on East Walnut, Osceola, Ind., passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, May 18, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.

He was currently a foreman for the United Conveyor Corporation in Mishawaka, Ind.

Mr. Agostino was born on July 17, 1939, in South Bend, and has been a lifelong area resident. He had lived in Osceola for the past 19 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Dominic Agostino.

On May 17, 1980, in Osceola, he married Kathleen E. Goeller, who survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Julie A. Agostino of Osceola, Joni A. Rousculp of South Bend and Christine K. Alexander of Osceola; a son, Staff Sgt. James R. Agostino, Jr., of England; his mother, Catherine Palatin of South Bend; a grandson, Michael Paul Rousculp at home in South Bend; and by a brother, Robert Agostino of Niles, Mich.

Mr. Agostino was honorably discharged from the United States Army on April 3, 1964.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola. Burial and military graveside services will follow in Osceola Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, two hours prior to services, at the funeral home. Father Elden Miller from Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., or to the American Cancer Society.
