Joseph A. Alby. Joseph A. Alby, 75, of 255 S. 34^th St., died at 6:15 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Alby was born Nov. 30, 1911, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On June 5, 1943, in St. Paul, Minn., he married Dolores Tibesar, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Markel of Springfield, Mass., and Martha Casella of Middletown, N.Y.; two sons, Joseph A. Jr. of South Bend and Michael L. of  Plymouth; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Gillespie of South Bend and Marguerite Lynch of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. He was a member of American Turners for 30 years, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8748 and was a veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
