WALKERTON - Richard L. Allen, 68, of
7535 East Indiana 4, died at 10 p.m. Thursday in LaPorte
Hospital. Mr. Allen retired as a custodian after 13 years of
service for Ben Davis Junior High School, Indianapolis. He was
born Sept. 16, 1925 in Milwaukee, and has resided in Walkerton
for four years, coming from Indianapolis.
On Oct. 30, 1953, in Highland Park, Ill., he
married Phyllis J. Cudney. She died May 21, 1970.
Surviving are his fiance, Norma Kinch of Walkerton; two
daughters, Karen Thome of Walkerton, and Phyllis Allen Todd
of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren; five stepdaughters,
LaVonna Kinch of Jonesville, Va., Patti Horsea of
Mishawaka, Sue Allen of Michigan, Linda Kidwell of
LaPorte, and Kay Armstrong of Nashville, Tenn.; five
stepsons, John Kinch of Bossier, La., Joe Kinch of Texas, Louis
Kinch of LaPorte, Robert Kinch of New York, and Tim Kinch of
Cadillac, Mich.; several step-grandchildren; several
step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Cooper of
Adams, Wis.; and a brother, Paul George of Friendship, Wis. A
granddaughter preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday
in Fair Cemetery, Lakeville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m.
today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in Haverstock Funeral Home,
LaPorte.
