MISHAWAKA - Seth Howell Allen, 70, of 13th Street, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, at 12:30 p.m. in his residence.
Mr. Allen was born on Sept. 27, 1926, in Hartman, Ark. On May 29, 1971, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, he married Lucille E. Van Hoedt. She passed away on June 8, 1990. Mr. Allen is survived by one sister, Lucille Allen Rinke of Clarksville, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Jenny Benko and Georgette DeVreese, both of Mishawaka and Clara Nate of Dowagiac, Mich.; 17 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Allen retired from Uniroyal in 1988. He was a life member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 360 in Mishawaka, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2083, a World War II Navy veteran, and an usher for football at the University of Notre Dame for 27 years.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home.
