NEW CARLISLE - Penny M. Amick, 56, of Hamilton Community, New Carlisle, died Tuesday afternoon, January 16, in Memorial Hospital. Penny was a beautician with the House of James and worked for Sam's Club, Mishawaka. She was born January 14, 1951, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Albert B. and Geraldine D. (Sweet) Coleman.
On October 9, 1996, in South Bend, she married Michael F. Amick, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2004. Penny is survived by her stepdaughter, Amanda Amick of South Bend; two stepsons, Justin Amick of Nappanee and Nathan (Paula) Alsup of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Randy, Daniela, David, A.J. and Lucas Amick, and Courtney and Brittany Szucs; three sisters, Betty (Richard) Baxter, Diana (Hubert) Betzer and Ruth (Bill) Witz, all of Mishawaka; a brother, Edward (Pam) Coleman of Florida; eight nieces and nephews, and six great- nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, in the HICKEY Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend. Interment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
