SOUTH BEND — Christine S. Amos, 52, of 1910 South Walnut Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 6:58 a.m. Sunday, June 10, in her residence. Christine was born Jan. 23, 1949, in South Bend, and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.

 

On Nov. 30, 1991, in Mishawaka, Ind., she married Kenneth D. Amos, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Tracy M. (Jeff) Fadden of South Bend; and a granddaughter, Ila C. Fadden; two sisters, Cheryl A. Ramirez of Mishawaka and Lorraine B. (John) Kuhn of Lakeville, Ind.; two brothers, John L. Shankle of Minneapolis, Minn., and Wade E. (Debra) Shankle of Crosby, Minn.; a stepsister, Darlene Winterrowd of Plymouth, Ind.; and by two stepbrothers, Dennis Winterrowd of Mishawaka and Michael L. (Vickie) Winterrowd of Lakeville. Christine was employed at Ristance of Mishawaka prior to her illness.

 

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 12, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, in the funeral home, with Pastor Sam Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society, or to the charity of donor's choice. The Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and prayers to the Amos family.
