SOUTH BEND - Frances M. Andrews, 101, formerly of Bonds Avenue, South Bend, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Country Care West, South Bend. She was born on July 16, 1908, in New Carlisle, to the late Joseph and Mary (Glon) Wroblewski. She moved to South Bend and had lived most of her life here. On November 18, 1939, as Frances M. Wroblewski, she married Arthur S. Andrews, who preceded her in death on September 2, 1985. Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by five sisters, Stella Bladeski, Helen Wroblewski, Theresa Wroblewski, Martha Wyant and Elizabeth Borlik. She is survived by two nieces, Lucille Strzelecki and Kathy Borlik, both of South Bend; two nephews, Thomas Borlik of Granger and William Borlik of North Liberty; seven great-nieces and nephews; four great-great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-great-nieces; and many extended family. She is also survived by Vel and Bob Nielsen, her caregivers. Mrs. Andrews worked at Bendix for 43 years before retiring in 1972. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was in the Rosary Society. Frances also was a member of the St. Hedwig Society of St. Stanislaus Parish. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Homes, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend.
