Bert S. Andrzejewski

Jan. 22, 1907 - Dec. 30, 2001

Bert S. Andrzejewski, 94, of S. Dundee St., South Bend, died Sunday, December 30th, 2001 in Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 22nd, 1907 in South Bend to Ignacy and Eva (Dembinski) Andrzejewski.

On September 6, 1926 he married Jennie D. Dobrucki, who preceded him in death on March 30, 1996.

He is survived by two daughters, Aileen Bartkowiak and Lorraine (Daniel) Ewald, both of South Bend. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Michael Bartkowiak, Kenneth Bartkowiak (Barb), Thomas Ewald (Roberta), and Pamela Brown (John), all of South Bend; and nine great grandchildren.

Mr. Andrzejewski was employed by the former Studebaker Corporation and the County City Building in South Bend.

He was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, St. Adalbert's Harvest House, St. Hedwig Golden Cluster Group, St. Joe Young Men's Society, and he was inducted in to the Polka Hall of Fame in 1971.

Family and friends may call at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2nd, 2002, where a rosary will be said at 5:00 p.m.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 3rd at 11:30 a.m. in St. Adalbert Catholic Church with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum.

A loving and respected individual, Bert had many cherished memories of his family and his music. His songs will live forever in the hearts of the thousands of people he entertained.
