LAKEVILLE - Ruth A. Annis, 86, of Plymouth, IN, formerly
of Lakeville, passed away at 5:05 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, in
Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, IN. She was born August 15, 1921,
in Madison, IN, to William H. and Blanche V. (Hadden) Hensley.
On January 3, 1941, in Louisville, KY, she
married Harold G. Annis Sr., who preceded her in death on
February 9, 1979. Mrs. Annis is survived by four daughters,
Joanne (Roger) Sauer of Lakeville, IN, Susie (Lyle) Haas
of Lakeville, IN, Mary (Paul) Davis of Lakeville, IN, and
Revonda Denney of Plymouth, IN; three sons, Russell (Judy)
Annis of Columbus, OH, Richard (Debra) Annis of Mishawaka, IN,
and Shawn (Jackie) Annis of Mishawaka, IN; 50 grandchildren, 64
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and a
brother, James (Ellen) Burks of Glasgow, KY. A son, Harold
G. Annis Jr., and a sister, Jeannette Crane, preceded her
in death. Mrs. Annis was a lifelong resident of Lakeville and a
member of the Lakeside Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and
loving mother who loved to dance, cook and work in the garden.
Mrs. Annis was a ground observer during World War II. She
formerly worked in the kitchen at the Ridgedale Nursing Home and
worked at the former Alibi Restaurant in LaPaz, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday, April 4, 2008, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S.
Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Rev. Josh Hamilton will officiate.
Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may
visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008,
in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American
Diabetes Association, 7363 E. 21st. St., Indianapolis, IN 46219;
