Clifford Applegate

SOUTH BEND - Clifford Applegate, 92, of Alamo, Calif., formerly of South Bend, died June 3 in his home of natural causes. Mr. Applegate was employed by the former Granada Theater as a movie projector operator. He was born April 8, 1902, in Blackstone, Ill., and lived in South Bend until 1943.

 

His wife, Mildred Applegate, died in 1989. He is survived by a daughter, Andrea J. Applegate of Alamo; a son, Dr. William of San Diego; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph M. of South Bend. He was a member of the Masons.

 

Services were held Tuesday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Walnut Creek, Calif. Burial was in Oakmont Cemetery, Lafayette, Calif. Oak Hill Chapel Funeral Home, Walnut Creek, handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
