Sister Mary Angelam CSC, 80, died Monday evening in St. Mary’s Convent after a lengthy illness, Born on Oct. 16, 1895 in South Bend as Angeline Archambault, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Aug. 8, 1916. She was received as a novice on Jan. 1, 1917, and made her final profession of vows on Jan. 6, 1919. She was assigned to teaching in elementary schools, serving Holy Cross, St. Joseph and St, Patrick’s, all in South Bend; and St. Mary’s College. She also taught in Anderson and Gary, and in Illinois, Iowa and Maryland before returning to St. Mary’s Convent in 1966.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and until services in the convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today.
