Thad H. Arelt

Thad H. "Ted" Arelt, 85, of Ponsha Street, South Bend, Ind., died Saturday, Nov. 6, at 6:42 p.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

Ted was born June 10, 1919, in South Bend, to Joseph and Agnes (Wojciechowski) Arelt.

On May 22, 1954, in Elkhart, Ind., Ted married Verla B. Cataldo, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mary A. (Kevin) Gann of Cleveland, Tenn., Margaret A. Arelt of Chicago, Ill., Susan L. (Mike) Arelt-Pohlman of Charlotte, N.C., and Nancy L. (Robert) Heisler of Mishawaka, Ind.; two sons, Joseph A. (Robin) Arelt of Loganville, Ga., and Carl M. (Jean Marie) Arelt of Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

Ted was a World War II Navy veteran, and had retired from Davis Products Company of Dowagiac, Mich. Ted was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church, PNA #83, American Legion Post 357, and the St. Joseph Young Men's Society.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Little Flower Catholic Church, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church.
