George A. Armour

Nov. 14, 1924 - July 27, 2000

George A. Armour, 75, of Arthur St., Granger, Ind., passed away Thursday at 6:10 p.m. in Regency Place Nursing Home, after an illness. George was born in Mercer, Pa., on November 14, 1924, and had resided in this area since 1948. He retired in 1984 from South Bend Drug Company, after 15 years of service, and was also employed by Magnum Security Services, as a security guard. George was a member of the V.F.W. #360 and American Legion Post #151, Granger, Ind.

 

On November 2, 1944 in Mishawaka, George married Lois J. Yaw. She passed away on August 14, 1995. George was also preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mary Armour, and two brothers Harry and James Armour. Surviving is one daughter Barbara Smith, of Granger; three sons Eugene (Janis) Armour of Rochester, N.Y., Ronnie L. (Barbara) Armour, of Granger, and Bradley D. (Kathleen) Armour, of Granger; and by seven grandchildren.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where friends may call from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. V.F.W. #360 will conduct Military Rites at the cemetery. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
