SOUTH BEND - John T. Armstead, 57, of
721 S. Kentucky St., died at 5:24 a.m. Friday in Memorial
Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Armstead was a construction
worker. He was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Kilmichael, Miss., coming to
this area in 1957.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia
Armstead and Renee Byrd, both of South Bend; a son, Harvey T. of
South Bend; a foster son, Thomas Holmes of South Bend;
five grandchildren; a sister, Everlene Hall of Kilmichael;
and a brother, Winston Armstead of Winona, Miss. He was a member
of Laborers and Hod-Carriers Union, Local 645.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Ed
Roberts's Memorial Chapel, Roberts & Sons Mortuary, Winona.
Burial will be in Lindsey Springs Baptist Church Cemetery,
Kilmichael. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Clark
Funeral Chapel.
