Adele Artusi

Sept. 15, 1892 – Feb. 15, 1976

Mishawaka - Mrs. Adele Artusi, 83, of 309 W. 14th. died at 9 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital following an illness of three months.

 

Born in Este, Italy, Sept 15, 1892, Mrs. Artusi had lived in Mishawaka for 58 years, coming here from Minnesota.  As Adele Conti she married Leo Artusi in Basil, Switzerland in 1912. He died March 29, 1964.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Mary Young and Mrs. Louise Miller, both of Mishawaka, and Mrs Melvin McCrea of New Haven, Ind.; four sons, Libero and Ray, both of Mishawaka, Guido of Rochester, and Rene of Wyatt; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and four sisters, all in Italy.  Another son, Edward, died in March 1973.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the DeVos Funeral Chapel.

 

Mrs. Artusi was a member of St. Bavo’s Church.

Services for Mrs. Adele Artusi, 83, of 309 W. 14th who died at 9 p.m. Sunday night in St. Joseph Hospital following an illness of three months, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Rev Robert Mahoney, assistant pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and all day Wednesday in the DeVos Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
