SOUTH BEND - Norman Edgar Asbury, 85, of South Bend, IN (formerly of Jasonville, IN), passed away Sunday evening, March 7, 2010, at Elkhart Hospice House in Elkhart, IN. He was born in Coalmont, Indiana, on March 27, 1924, to Ross and Lena Bell (Hallmark) Asbury. He worked at Studebaker until they closed, then worked at Sellmer's Music Co. from which her retired. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of the Calvert Rod and Gun Club. Norman is survived by his daughter, Debra Shultz of Lakeville, IN; nine (9) grandchildren, Carrie & husband, Daniel Ault, Lindsey Shultz, Timothy Shultz, Ashley Shultz, Jeremy Shultz, Zachery Shultz, Brittany Shultz, Christy Shultz and Mackenzie Shultz; two (2) great-grandchildren, Anna and Angus Ault; and numerous extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Jean (Miller) Asbury, in 2001; sister, Helen Lutes; and brothers, Howard Asbury and Jim Asbury. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday in McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, under the direction of Stuart M. Snow, at 631 East Main Street in Jasonville, IN, with Pastor Ken Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Peavey Cemetery, Howesville, IN. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 12, in the funeral home.
