Ivan Asper Sept. 8, 1923 - April 21, 2014

WINAMAC - Ivan Richard Asper, 90, of Winamac, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 3:30 am Monday, April 21, 2014, in the Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac. Ivan was born on September 8, 1923, in South Bend, the son of the late John Henry and Della Fay (Stayton) Asper. On February 9, 1946, he married Margaret Kedik. She passed away on October 5, 1999. Ivan is survived by three children, Linda of Mishawaka, Randy Asper of DeMotte, IN, and Roy (Melody) Asper of Elkhart; four grandchildren, April, Jacob, Melanie and Ryan; and one great-grandchild, Colden. He is also survived by his good friend, Luella Bowman. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Richard and Ronald. Ivan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before his honorable discharge in 1945. He retired from the former Uniroyal. After his retirement, he was a security guard at the Pierre Moran mall for several years. His hobbies included fishing and R/C airplanes. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 pm Friday, April 25, 2014, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola.
