Samuel A. Augustine

Samuel A. Augustine, 57, of 330 Preston Dr., died at 1:30 am today in Hines Veteran's Hospital, Ill, after an illness of eight months. He was born on April 16, 1915, in South Bend, and had lived here all of his life.

He was an employee of the LaSalle Liquor Corp.. In 1958, he married Kathleen Fokey, who survives, along with three daughters, Tammy, at home, Mrs. Mary Ann Shafer of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Susan Gross of Granger; two grandchildren; five brothers, Dominic, Thomas, Patrick, all of South Bend, Nicholas of Mishawaka, and John of Manhattan Beach, CA; five sisters, Mrs. Catherine Niesen, and Mrs. Mary Kellam of California, Mrs. Theresa Harmon of Niles, MI, Miss Josephine Augustine of South Bend, and Mrs. Francis Gillespie of Kokomo. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, in the McGann funeral home, where services will be held at 11 am on Saturday with the Rev. Donald Guertin C.S.C. pastor, of St Joseph's Church, officiating. Burial will be Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Augustine was a World War 2 veteran. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
