Bruce Badgero

February 15, 1927 - January 4, 2002

Bruce Badgero, 74, of N. Francis St., South Bend, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday January 4, in his residence. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 15, 1927 to Robert & Flossie (Converse) Badgero who preceded him in death along with a brother Jack Badgero and a half sister, Arlene Badgero.

 

Bruce married the former Dorothy P. Russell-Ray in South Bend on December 17, 1977. She survives. Mr. Badgero is also survived by five daughters, Carolyn (Don) Simpson of South Bend, Sue (Jerry) Handley of South Bend, Dottie (Les) Prout of Granger, Vickey (Jan) Brooks of Turtle Town, Tn., and Lottie (Dave) Holt of South Bend. Among other survivors are thirteen grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren three great great grandchildren, two step great great grandchildren, a sister, Colleen (Maynard) Ricker of South Bend, and a brother, George (Nancy) Badgero of Granger.

 

Bruce retired from Avanti Motors in 1985. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Willowdale Church of Christ in Elkhart.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday January 7, in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Bill Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
