SOUTH BEND - Ruth A. Baer, 91, of
19769 E. Dice St., died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial
Hospital. Mrs. Baer was born Jan. 26, 1903, in South Bend, and
was a lifelong resident.
On June 20, 1922, in South Bend, as Ruth A. Wells,
she married Delmar R. Baer. He died in 1976. Surviving are two
daughters, Ilene Michael of Granger and Betty Koontz
of New Carlisle; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-granddaughter. A son, Larry, died in 1971. She was a
member of Southside Christian Church and Travelers Protective
Association Auxiliary and a volunteer at Northern Indiana
Children's Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Forest
G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in
Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
the church.
