MISHAWAKA - Thelma G. Baert, 85, of West 13th Street, died at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Baert was born Dec. 29, 1909, in Mishawaka, and was a lifelong area resident. On Aug. 27, 1927, in Mishawaka, as Thelma G. Mestach, she married August Baert. He died in 1969. She is survived by a daughter, Natalie Bokhart of Mishawaka; a son, Edgar J. of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Hosler of Mishawaka and Irene Johnson of Boise, Idaho; and two brothers, Edgar Mestach of Wakarusa and Robert Mestach of Mishawaka. A son, Joseph, died in 1952. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Bubb Funeral Chapel Downtown, 202 N. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
