South Bend Tribune 4/3/2003

Services were held in St. Joseph Hills Convent, Staten Island, N.Y., for Sister M. Constance Bagarus F.D.C. She died on March 14, 2003, at the age of 87, in the Eger Health Center, Staten Island.

Sister Constance was born in South Bend, Ind., on July 19, 1915. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Barbara Bagarus, and by two brothers, George and Louis, and by a sister, Gizella (William) Squadroni, all from South Bend.

At age 15, Sister Constance entered the convent to devote herself to God and her church. She had been stationed at Good Shepherd Parish for 25 years in San Diego, Calif., with a brief transfer to Corpus Christi Parish in South Bend. Sister Constance's ministry touched the lives of many people, especially the young.

Sister Constance is survived by a brother, George (Dorothy) Bagarus; three sisters, Helen (Raymond) Bloom, Betty (Joseph) Danowski and Mary (Lawrence) Heyde, all from South Bend; and by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may have Masses said in her honor in the church of their choice. She will be missed dearly by all whose hearts she touched.
