Services for Sister M. Emedius Bagley CSC, 94, of Saint Mary’s Convent, who died at 1 a.m. Wednesday in the convent, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and Friday in the convent parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. today.

 

He was born on Jan. 31, 1894, in Plymouth, as Elizabeth Bagley. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on July 8, 1913, coming from Plymouth. She was received as a novice on Dec. 10, 1913, and professed her vows Dec. 10, 1915. She was assigned to teaching in elementary schools, serving for 17 years at St. Joseph Grade School in South Bend. She also taught in Logansport, LaPorte and Michigan in Indiana; Chicago; Harvard, Ill.; and Washington DC. After her retirement in 1966, she was assigned to the gift shop at St. Mary’s Convent for 15 years.
