Alice Ann Bailey

A golden chariot accompanied with white stallions from the four corners of the earth carried the soul of Alice Ann Bailey, a good and faithful servant, through the Pearly Gates into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to spend eternity in Paradise. Alice, 57, of Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., fought the good fight against plasma cell myloma to earn her place in heaven.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jefferson; a daughter, Greta Lee of South Bend; grandson, Jordan; granddaughter, Olivia Ann; sister, Edna (Patrick) Malone of South Bend; and by two brothers, Mark (Judy) Murphy of Toledo, Ohio, and John (Lynn) Murphy of Atlanta, Ga.

 

Alice was a vendor at the South Bend Farmer's Market, with many customers enjoying her wares as a seamstress. Alice was the foundress of the Farmers' Daughter's Chapter of the Red Hat Society. Alice was a past member of the People of Praise Community, leaving to marry her love in another state at the time.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, in Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 20, in Little Flower Catholic Church, with Rev. Andre Leveille, C.S.C., officiating. Cremation is to follow. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you feed the poor, Little Flower Food Pantry, 54191 N.
