GRANGER - Darcy Ann Bailey, 42, of Granger, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008, in Elkhart General Hospital. On July 30, 1988, she married Kevin Bailey, who survives along with their two children, Rachel and Colin. Darcy was born June 21, 1966, in Elkhart, Indiana, and is survived by her parents, Douglas and Diana (Salomon) Soard; sister and brother-in-law, Dorry and Jack Foltz; nephew, Jared Foltz, and niece, Rylee Foltz; grandmother, Delores Salomon Wheeler; great-aunt, Carol (Jerry) Aller; uncles, Charles Soard and David Salomon, all of Elkhart; and aunt, Sally (Jack) Soard Schwerha, Bridgman, Michigan; along with eight cousins. She is also survived by father-in-law, Troy Bailey of Lynnville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Jodie (Marc) Hardy; nephew, Justin DeCloedt of Indianapolis, Indiana; uncle-in-law, Steve (Becky) Warrick; aunts-in-law and Marti (John) Aiken of Bloomington, Indiana, and Cindy (Randy) Witwer; and her grandmother-in-law, Helen Warrick, all of Columbus, Indiana. Besides being a loving wife and devoted mother, Darcy spent her life providing dependable loving care to hundreds of children in her more than 22 years working in partnership with her mother at Di's Day Care and later at her own home. Darcy made the world a better place not only by providing devoted, loving care for children in the Elkhart area, but by helping the parents who depended on her and knew they would be greeted each day by her beautiful smile as they trusted her with their cherished loved ones.

 

The family will receive friends and share memories of Darcy at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN, on Friday, December 12, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society, 54687 County Road 19, Bristol, Indiana.
