Thomas F. Bailey, 51, of Penn Ave., Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness on Friday, Jan. 21, 2000 at 11 p.m. in the Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. Bailey was born on Oct. 18, 1948 in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Glen W. and Mary Jane (Bastian) Bailey. He was a lifelong area resident.

 

Mr. Bailey is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane (Brad) Kidder of Nappanee, Ind.; two grandchildren, Madison and Zane Kidder; two sisters, Mary Lou (Don) Yoder of Mishawaka and Marie (Bob) Minutillo of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, James (Kathy) Bailey of Elkhart and Myron Glen (Heidi) Bailey of Granite City, Ill.; a nephew, Michael Young of South Bend; and by a niece, Tammie Young of Mishawaka.

 

Tom worked for Dodge Reliance in Mishawaka. He was a member of Local #1191 Steel Workers Union and served as a union steward and a United States Army veteran.

 

The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. for a memorial service and a time of sharing of memories and good times at the United Steel Workers Union Hall, 125 Hill St., Mishawaka. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to his great nephew, Kary Young Benefit Fund at the National City Bank. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth St., Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
