Ardis B. Baker

Ardis B. Baker, 87, residing on Fulmer Road, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. She was born on Jan. 3, 1913, in Kankakee, Ill., to the late A.M. and Pearl M. (Collins) Loudermilk, and had lived in this community since 1998, coming from Prescott, Ariz.

 

On Feb. 5, 1944, in Battle Creek, Mich., as Ardis Loudermilk, she married Lester R. Baker, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1993. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Victor H. Loudermilk, Joseph Loudermilk, H. Guy Loudermilk and Linus K. Loudermilk. Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons and their wives, Rev. Larry and Bev Baker of South Bend, Ind., and Gary and Carla Baker of Prescott; five grandchildren, Jennifer Baker-Smith of Bremen, Ind., Jason (Melissa) Baker of Lakeville, Ind., Jared Baker of Canoga Park, Calif., A.J. Baker and Adam Baker, both of Prescott; and by four great-grandchildren.

 

Memorial services for Mrs. Baker will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 30, in the First Brethren Church, 4909 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Rev. Larry Hanson, pastor of County Line Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will take place in Knox, Ind. The Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, is handling arrangements. Contributions in memory of Ardis B. Baker may be made to the First Brethren Church, South Bend.
