SOUTH BEND - Wayne E. Baker, 69, passed away at 1:30 a.m.
Wednesday, October 1, 2008, in Memorial Hospital. Wayne was born
on May 16, 1939, in South Bend, to Harold and Lois (Hall)
Baker. He was retired from Maron Manufacturing. On July 7, 1984,
he married Elnora A. Yeagley, who died on July 29, 2000.
Wayne was also preceded in death by a son, David Baker, and by a
sister, Dixie, and a brother, Benn. Surviving are a daughter,
Katherine Vaught of South Bend; a son, Raymond Baker of
South Bend; six grandchildren, Melissa Goepfrich, Dennis Landry,
Allison Belmarez, Nicole Belmarez, Katie Noel Baker and
Dustin Baker; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Rex
Baker of Elkhart and Gary Baker of South Bend.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call two hours prior to services in the funeral home.
