Charles Richard Baldwin

Charles Richard "Dick" Baldwin, 69, of Royal Oak Court, Greenville, S.C., formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, in Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

 

Mr. Baldwin was born on Nov. 26, 1930, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Charles E. and Clara M. (Robinson) Baldwin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Baldwin on March 10, 1999.

 

On Nov. 8, 1953, in Mishawaka, he married the former Shirley M. Porter. Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife Shirley of 46 years; a daughter, Jill Baldwin of Greenville; and two sons, Mark (Ronda) Baldwin of Osceola, Ind., and Scott (Alison) Baldwin of Burke, Va.; two grandchildren, Kyle Baldwin and Courtney Baldwin; and by a sister, Alice Toth of Livonia, Mich.

 

Mr. Baldwin graduated in 1949 from Mishawaka High School and also Indiana University in 1953. He was employed by Reliance Electric in Mishawaka until 1981, moving with the company to Greenville before retiring in 1994 after 22 years of service. He was a United States Marine veteran, serving in the Korean War.

 

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, July 15th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15th, in the funeral home. Mr. Baldwin's nephew, Rev. Paul Toth, will officiate. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate Memorial & Tributes Program, Dept. 77-3968, Chicago, IL 60678-3968.
