Marylaine W. Balmer Feb. 9, 1924 - Dec. 13, 2009
LAKEVILLE - Marylaine Balmer died peacefully at home on December 13th in Lakeville, IN.  Marylaine was born Marylaine Winnifred VanHaverbeke on February 9, 1924, in Mishawaka, IN.  In 1944 she married Lester M. Balmer, who preceded her in death along with her parents, Patrick and Madaleine (Lambert) VanHaverbeke, and brothers, Woodrow, a twin, and Roy VanHaverbeke.  She is survived by her three children: daughters, Patricia (Stan) Olson of Chandler, AZ, and Kathleen Kring of Tucson, AZ, along with son, Randal (Patricia) Balmer of Lakeville, IN; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Balmer of Green Valley, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Betty VanHaverbeke of Mishawaka.  Marylaine had enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona for many years and had also expanded her love of travel by making numerous trips during her lifetime to places that were of interest to her, including the birthplace of her parents, Belgium.  She loved to garden, especially with flowers, and was also an excellent seamstress. She was a devoted wife and mother whose priority was her family, in whom she took much pride.  As per her wishes, there will be no visitation.  A private family graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, on Wednesday, Dec. 16th.  The Rev. Leonard Jepson, pastor of First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate.  Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
