SOUTH BEND - Alice H. Baranowski, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph Care Center West. Alice was born on August 8, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Mary (Grzegorek) Wlodarek. On June 16, 1951, she married Frank Baranowski, who preceded her in death on April 11, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Baranowski, five brothers and a sister. She is survived by her five children, Betty (Rusty) Ludwig of Mishawaka and Mary (Ronald) Wagner of St. Louis, MO, Robert Baranowski of South Bend, Larry (Joyce) Baranowski of South Bend and Jerry (Mary) Baranowski; 12 grandchildren, Robby, Brandon, Joel, Amber, Angie, Katie, Brianne, Andrea, Timothy, Nora, Shelly and Ronnie; 10 great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Clara Beitler of South Bend. Alice was a housekeeper for St. Adalbert Catholic Church for many years. She was the past president of Haller's Post and was a member of the Lady Auxiliary of Post 357 and Sisters Auxiliary at St. Adalbert. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
