SOUTH BEND - Mary E. Baraso, 95, of the Milton Home in South Bend, IN, formerly of Westmoor Street in South Bend, passed away at 11:57 a.m. Sunday, February 14, 2010, in Elkhart Hospice House. She was born on September 20, 1914, to the late John and Rose (Madaras) Suth, in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents, four sisters, Rose Brydon, Elizabeth Kovacsics, Ann Oatman and Margaret Horvath, and one brother, John Suth, also preceded her in death. On June 16, 1934, as Mary E. Suth, she married Joseph Baraso in South Bend, IN, who died on May 2, 1984. She is survived by her son, Richard (LuAnn) Baraso of South Bend, IN; three grandchildren, Randall (Leslie) Baraso of Charleston, SC, Michele (Randall) Pawlak of South Bend, IN, and Robert (Jacqueline) Baraso of Plainfield, IN; eight great-grandchildren, Skylar and Sage Baraso, Jordan, Kristin, Hope and Sean Pawlak, Sydney and Sophia Baraso; two sisters, Irene Molnar and Barbara Wesolowski, both of Mishawaka, IN; and one brother-in-law, Louie Horvath of South Bend, IN. Mrs. Baraso was a current member of St. Casimir Parish, a member of the former St. Stephen's Parish and its St. Theresa Society. Mary enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. The family would like to acknowledge Elkhart Hospice House and the Milton Home in South Bend for their compassionate care they had given to our mother. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 19, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a combined married men's and parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Elkhart Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., or to St. Casimir Catholic Church.
