Doris J. Barbera

Doris J. Barbera, 69, of W. 12th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:29 a.m. on Monday, March 9, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.

She was born in Mishawaka on Dec. 1, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Gladys (Pulaski) Thomas; a sister, Lois Dobrodt; and by a brother, Billy Thomas.

On Sept. 10, 1949, Doris was married in St. Bavo Church, Mishawaka, to William Barbera, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Patricia Barbera of South Bend and Margaret (John) Banicki of Mishawaka; two sons, Philip (Carolyn) Barbera of Mishawaka and Michael (Sandra) Barbera of South Bend; five grandchildren, David and Jonathon Barbera, and Michael and Melissa Banicki, all of Mishawaka, and Christopher Barbera of South Bend; and by a brother, Robert (Anna) Thomas of Mishawaka.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, where she was a member, with Father Robert A. Yast officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
