MISHAWAKA - Mildred R. Barbour, 84, of Northwood Drive, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday in saint Joseph regional Medical Center. Survivors include three daughters, Sue Barbour and Diane Freitag, both of Mishawaka and Marge A. Barbour of Tampa, Fla; two sons, Stanford C. Jr. of Osceola and Donald G. of Mishawaka; and three brothers, Bobbie Barrick, Russell Barrick and Cecil Barrick, all of Glasgow, Ky. services will be at 11a.m.  Wednesday in Hahn Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Mildred R. Barbour, 84, of Northwood Drive, Mishawaka, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, April 3, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

 

Mildred was born on Aug. 26, 1920, in Glasgow, Ky., as the daughter of James Herschel and Sarah Charlotte (Greer) Barrick.

 

On Dec. 27, 1941, in Horse Cave, Ky. as the former Mildred R. Barrick she married Sanford Carlton Barbour he preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1978. Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers David Nelson Barrick, Ewell Barrick and George Ike Barrick.

 

Mildred is survived by three daughters Sue Barbour, Diane Freitag both of Mishawaka and Marge A. Barbour of Tampa, Fla. Two sons Stanford C. Jr. (Sharon) Barbour of Osceola and Donald G. (Linda) Barbour of Mishawaka. Seven grandchildren Sherry Alwine, Rich Barbour, David Barbour, Brandy Ulmar, Scott Freitag, Kasey Matherly, Charlie Matherly. Five great grandchildren. Three brothers Bobbie (Becky) Barrick, Russell (Doris) Barrick,  Cecil Barrick all of Glasgow, Ky.
 
Mildred moved to Mishawaka in 1943 coming from Kentucky. She was employed by Burcliff Industries I Mishawaka for 40 years before her retirement in 1995. Mildred was a member of Gospel Center Missionary Church in South Bend. Mildred was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She could always bring a smile to your face. She will be greatly missed by her family.

 

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, in Hahn funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, in Hahn Funeral Home with Pastor Charles E. Husted officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
