Stanford C. Barbour Sr.,
67, of 58829 State , died at 6:40 a.m. today in St. Joseph
Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on Aug, 19,
1911, in Glasgow, Ky., and moved to the area in 1943. On Dec. 27,
1941, in Horse Cave, Ky., he married Mildred Barrick. She
survives with three daughters Miss Sue Barbour and Mrs. Diane
Freitag, both of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Marge Pelly of Tampa, Fla;
two sons Stanford C. Barbour Jr. and Donald Barbour, both of
Mishawaka; six grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Rugh of
Summershade, Ky., and Mrs. Aro Rigsby of Glasgow, Ky.
Arrangements are being made by the Hahn-Peffley-DeVos funeral Home. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday. Barbour was a custodian with the Penn-Harris-Madison School System until retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 6, and was a World War II Army veteran.
