Delores L. Barhydt

Jan. 11, 1930 -- March 14, 2004

Delores L. Barhydt, 74, of Ireland Road in Mishawaka, Ind., died at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, March 14, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.

She was born in South Bend on Jan. 11, 1930, to Clifford and Esther (Hamilton) Ward, who preceded her in death.

Delores worked for many years at Burcliff Industries, retiring in 1985.

She married Joseph Barhydt in Mishawaka on Oct. 4, 1947. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph. She is also survived by five daughters, Sherry Claeys, Rae (Jim) VanHaver, Pat (Jim) Welker, Pam (Jim) Ryan, all of Mishawaka, and Judy (Jerry) Czajkowski of Wyatt, Ind.; two sons, Mike (Peggy) Barhydt and Dave (Sue) Barhydt, both of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Jean Blair of Wadena, Minn., and Mary Lou Amarilla of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Don Ward of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Larry Ward of Mishawaka.

Delores enjoyed her family, along with camping and fishing.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 16, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Mark Muncy of Ireland Road Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
