SOUTH BEND - Margaret C. Barker, 66, of Hollyhock Road, died at 4 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Barker retired in 1989 from Schafer Gear Works. She was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Linden, Ind., and lived in South Bend since 1955, coming from Lafayette, Ind.

 

In 1955, in Angola, Ind., as Margaret McKinney, she married Henry M. Barker. He survives with a daughter, Vickie E. Howard of Osceola; three grandchildren; four sisters, Myrtle Breshears of Attica, Ind., Mildred Welsh of Covington, Ind., Betty Edwards of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Eleanor Hooper of Lafayette; and two brothers, Paul McKinney and Bobby McKinney, both of Lafayette. She was a member of South Bend Eagles Auxiliary, Mishawaka Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 303 Auxiliary, and Women's Society of World Services.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wolf Creek Church, Wallace, Ind. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, and from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Powers Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
