Billy B. Barkman, 67, of East Ninth Street, Mishawaka, died at 5:46 a.m. Wednesday, in the Emergency Room of St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka, after a sudden illness. Mr. Barkman was born Aug. 21, 1929 in Noble County, Ind. Mr. Barkman retired in 1993 from the U.S. Post Office in Mishawaka after 31 years as a maintenance man.

Billy B. Barkman married Audrey M. Miller in South Bend, Ind. on July 8, 1961. Audrey survives along with one son, Wyatt J. Barkman of Mishawaka; one grandson, Seth Barkman of Mishawaka; one sister, Ruthie McHenry of California; and one brother, Horace Rumsey of Texas. One sister preceded him in death.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott Weaver. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Barkman was a veteran of the Korean War.
