Gerald F. Barnes Sr.

Gerald F. Barnes Sr., 75, of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Granger, Ind., died on Wed., Sept. 1 in the Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Fla. He was born on March 6, 1929, in Chicago, Ill. To the late Wilhelmina (Lisky) and Charles J. Barnes. Mrs. Barnes was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Barnes, and a brother, C. Patrick Barnes.

 

On Aug. 22, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., he married Geneva Tiedge, who survives. Mr. Barnes is also survived by three sons, Gerald F. Barnes Jr. Of Elkhart, Ind., James P. (Kathy) Barnes of Phoenix, Ariz., Timothy M. Barnes of Holly Ridge, N.C. and by two sisters, Sr. Aldred of Aurora, Ill., and Rosemary (Stanley) Czyl of Punta Gorda, Fla.

 

Mrs. Barnes retired from the Bendix Corporation where he was a tool and die maker. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger and was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the Army.

 

Memorial services for Mr. Barnes will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Rd., Granger, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Rev. William Schooler, pastor of the church will conduct the memorial services. Burial will take place immediately after the services at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The Welsheimer Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
