Ruby L. Barnes

Ruby L. Barnes, 78, of Lincoln Way West, Osceola, Ind., passed away on Friday, May 11, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Ruby was born on March 18, 1923, in South Bend, to William V. and Sarah (Nettrour) Will, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Fannie Culp, and by her brother, John Will. Ruby graduated from Jimtown High School in 1941. She ran Will's Jewelry Store during World War II while her brother John was in the service.

 

On April 19, 1947, she married Herbert (Ken) Barnes, who survives. Together they started Creative Printers in 1953 and worked side by side for 43 years. During that time they raised two children, a daughter, Susan Ann Barnes, and a son, Jerry Lee Barnes, who survive. She is also survived by her brother, Floyd Will of Osceola; a sister-in-law, Georgia Will of Mishawaka; a nephew, Homer Culp of Osceola; a Shirley Will of Mishawaka; and by several cousins. Ruby was a very loving, caring person who did anything and everything for everyone, not thinking of herself. She will be in our hearts forever.

 

Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
