SOUTH BEND - Daniel William Barnhart,
12, of East Bowman Street, was dead on arrival at 2:25 p.m.
Tuesday in Memorial Hospital of an accidental gunshot wound.
Daniel was a sixth-grade student at Marshall Elementary School.
He was born March 11, 1982, in South Bend, and was a lifelong
area resident. He is survived by his mother, Stephanie (Merrill)
Stormoen of South Bend; his father, Daniel Barnhart of
South Bend; a sister, Desiree Merrill at home; a brother, Dennis
Stormoen of South Bend; maternal grandmother, Marie Platner
of South Bend; paternal grandparents, Gene Barnhart of South Bend
and Virginia and Richard Barnhart of Edwardsburg; and maternal
great-grandmother, Theresa Gonzales of Weslaco, Texas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in
Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph
Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made
to any charity.
